Ubuntu Kylin 15.04 National Release Series - Tianjin Station is rounded off!

Ubuntu Kylin 15.04 National Release Series - Tianjin Station, co-organized by the Tianjin University Free Software Union, Tianjin Linux user group and Ubuntu Kylin community is rounded off at Tianjin University on May 16, 2015. More than 100 fans from universities, businesses in Tianjin and Tianjin Linux user group come to the scene to exchange their ideas. Thanks the support of Tianjin University, Tianjin Kylin, Canonical, Huawei, SuperMap, Kaiyuanshe, CCN open-source laboratory, COPU and other organizations and companies.

The host is Wang Hui, a student from Tianjin University Free Software Union. Release party begins promptly at 14:00. Firstly, Luo Lei, a doctor from NUDT, introduces the progress of Ubuntu Kylin projects and new features of Ubuntu Kylin 15.04. And then, Dr. Luo discussed the background and necessity of the emergence of open-source culture as well as the piratical meaning of everyone's learning, meaningful work from the technological progress of human history, open source, patent and other aspects.

A second report is the introduction to Container and ContainerOps which currently are the hottest open source projects by Ma Quanyi, a teacher from Huawei OSS Competence Center and the founder of Docker Chinese technical community, who presents Docker lightweight virtualization technology from the earliest Linux chroot technology.

And then, Liu Xiaoguo, from Canonical, brings "yet another mobile operating system --Ubuntu mobile platform" to show us a new way of using Scopes and other mobile phone. Ubuntu BQ which is very popular in foreign countries shows amazingly at the venue. Because of its unique UI design and the best compatibility with both computers and phones, professionals said that Ubuntu Meizu which soon starts its selling will challenge iOS and Android. In the conference, Dr. Liu Ming, a member of China OSS Promotion Union member expert committee and the former vice president of CSIP said that Ubuntu Meizu is exactly what he is looking for.

Finally, Zhang Yulu, a UI designer from Ubuntu Kylin and Wang Erqi, a CTO from SuperMap company make lightning speeches, programmers in designers’ eyes, as well as open source software and Ubuntu Kylin in users’ eyes. Officer Wang also particularly analyses why open source has become a core strength of innovation, how software defines world and how open-source defines software and hardware world and so on.
